The Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield needed to expand. We were tasked with creating a building that would serve as overflow for teens in the normal school year, a camp building during the summer, and an events space to rent to the public. At Trillium we like to think creatively and so we presented them with a modern version of an Adirondack Camp building. The new building was designed to be fully sustainable, energy efficient, and earth friendly. It was also located to be a connector between the existing building and the new, with a performance space in between, it was designed to be a community ‘destination’. Our proposal was loved by the board but lost in the end by one vote.
