Our Connecticut clients wanted to create more space above their garage, where the primary suite was located, while also expanding the connector between the garage and the main house. The existing garage and connector were demolished and rebuilt as a single, cohesive addition. The new structure was raised to align with the height of the main house, while its proportions, materials, and traditional detailing were carefully designed to complement the home’s original architecture. Inside, the expanded footprint and newly vaulted ceilings dramatically transformed the living experience, creating a greater sense of openness, volume, and functionality. The result is a seamless addition that respects the character of the original home while providing the family with the additional space and improved functionality they needed.
